Plot Summary:
LOVEWRECKED tells the story of Jenny (Amanda Bynes), an eighteen year-old girl who is ecstatic when she finds that her favorite rock star, Jason (Chris Carmack), is a guest at the tropical resort where she is working for the summer. When Jason falls off a cruise ship, Jenny dives in to save him, and the two raft their way onto a nearby "desert island" -- actually just a stone's throw from a luxury resort. However, Jenny wants to spend some time alone with Jason, so she lets him continue to believe that they are desperate castaways-- at least for now. Things get even more complicated when Jenny’s rival Alexis (Jamie-Lynn DiScala) pretends to be shipwrecked too, and they both compete for Jason’s affections. Will Jenny's plan blow up in her face?

M8 Entertainment Inc. (TSX: MEE.A and MEE.B), a leading Canadian film entertainment company, announced today that principal photography has been completed on its feature film Lovewrecked. The teen comedy project stars Amanda Bynes (What a Girl Wants), Chris Carmack (Fox TV’s “The O.C.”), Jamie-Lynn DiScala (HBO’s “The Sopranos”), and Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls). Lovewrecked is directed by veteran comedy director Randal Kleiser (director of Grease and Honey I Blew Up the Kid), from a script by Stephen Langford. M8 Entertainment’s Sammy Lee and Stewart Hall are serving as producers on the film, along with Bacon & Eggs’ Joe Anderson and Wendy Thorlakson.

“It’s been a tremendously exciting and rewarding process to see Lovewrecked come to life,” said M8’s Stewart Hall. “Everything fell perfectly into place, as we were able to assemble a very talented cast of up-and-coming young stars, along with a top notch director like Randal. The film was shot entirely on location in the Dominican Republic, with most of the scenes being shot at the Sun Village Beach Resort in Puerto Plato. Media 8 Entertainment Inc. announced today that a number of leading actors have signed on for roles alongside star Amanda Bynes in its feature film teen comedy project Lovewrecked. Chris Carmack, one of the young stars of Fox's hit television series "The O.C." has signed on to play Jason, the rock idol whom Jenny (Ms. Bynes) finds herself shipwrecked with. "Sopranos" star Jamie-Lynn DiScala has also signed on to play the role of Alexis, who is Jenny's rival for Jason's affections. And playing the role of Jenny's best friend Ryan will be up-and-coming star Jonathan Bennett, who recently had a starring role in the hit feature film teen comedy Mean Girls.

Rounding out the rest of the cast are Suzanne Kent (Honey, I Blew Up the Kid) and Connor Matheus (The Polar Express, Santa Clause 2) who will respectively play Cinderella and Otis Venable, guests at the resort. Lance Bass will also have a role in the film as Dan, a cell-phone toting assistant to Milo and Belinda.


Media 8 Entertainment to Produce "Lovewrecked"
Media 8 Entertainment Inc. announced today that it will produce, finance and distribute the feature film project Lovewrecked. Written by Stephen Langford, the film is charming family comedy in the vein of Freaky Friday and What a Girl Wants. The film will be directed by Randal Kleiser, the director of such notable feature films as Grease and The Blue Lagoon. Lovewrecked will be a co-production of Media 8 Entertainment and Bacon & Eggs, the production company owned by Lance Bass, Wendy Thorlakson, and Joe Anderson. Media 8 Entertainment's Stewart Hall will produce with Anderson and Thorlakson. The film is slated for production in June in the Caribbean. Nancy Nayor (The Whole Ten Yards, Road Trip) has signed on as casting director, and the film has begun actively casting.

"Lovewrecked is an incredibly fresh and fun script.
