"Yeah. I want to have a production company. I want to produce films and I have great treatment ideas for scripts. I write stuff down all the time. At my age, I know that a lot of kids like the Olsen twins have this huge industry. I don’t want to do clothes. I want to be known as an actress and even though I’m younger, I want to have my own business. Like I want to be able to produce t.v. shows. I have an idea for an MTV Reality show that I’m trying to do. I have to sit down and write the treatment but I have no patience. I don’t need to be in it. I just want to produce it." "I hated my red hair. I only like it now because I love Ann Margret and she has red hair. My freckles were annoying though. I remember people making comments on my freckles because I had so many. Still do but now they have that Mystic Tan spray that makes you tan." I would love to find a movie like ‘Silence of the Lambs’ when I’m older that’s much different from this, but I don’t need to do that now because I’m only 17 once and why jump ahead and have nowhere to go?” “I want to be able to grow up with my fans instead of ahead of them” “It is cool being on magazine covers because that’s what I dreamed of when I started, it’s also demoralizing. They print such silly stuff about me. My little sister and her friends read those magazines and believe the things that are written about me — and that hurts.” “I got along with most people because I was a jock, a cheerleader and was into arts and music. I could successfully go from one group to another. I never had that feeling of being ostracized, which is what Mean Girls is all about.” “It was so much fun to play the b***h. I’ve never got to do that before. I went to public school until my senior year — which I took at home and with tutors — so I know all about school cliques.” "The success of Freaky Friday is the whole reason I agreed to The Love Bug.” ``I am 17 and this is a full-time job for me, and most people my age aren't doing this, So it shouldn't really matter. It should just be something that I consider just to be fun for me. But it's getting more serious now, because I'm getting older and I'm kind of watching the (box office) numbers and seeing what's going on, and it's nerve-racking.'' Too busy for a boyfriend? "No. I think that if I had a boyfriend, I'd make time for it. I don't think that it'd be a bad thing. It's because I'm 17 and I like 24-year-olds, and that's illegal.'' ``It's [tabloid rumors] so stupid. Everything is usually untrue, but the only true thing is that my name is in it and I'm a real person.'' "I do want to continue acting as well as singing, but I want to go to college, too. It's important to have an education. I just want to wait until I'm ready. I don't want to jump into it, especially since I'm focusing on my career." "You just have to hang out with people you trust and not worry about what others think. You'll always be under pressure what you're wearing and what you're doing. The only way to be comfortable is to know that you're surrounding yourself with people who like you for you." "I have no problem with her. [Hilary Duff] Maybe she has a problem with me but I don't think she should. She doesn't need to do that. Her career is going great. Her CD is doing well and I don't think it helps trying to get people kicked out of premieres and stuff like that." "I love singing and dancing, and I love writing songs." " I don’t really want to compare myself to anyone cause then I’ll always be judging myself based on them. I need to strategize and see how I’m going to come out with my singing after acting. I’m going to do acting cause that’s where I’m based. And if singing gets bigger for a little bit, I’ll switch on and off." "I’ve been singing and dancing since I was little. It’s hard right now because there are a lot of other girls coming out. There’s this girl Kiley Dean, and Hilary [Duff], and Britney’s new album. It’s kind of like I don’t want to just be one in the pack. I want to separate myself." "I’m at the age right now where I really want a boyfriend. All my friends have boyfriends. And then you look at all these 24 year old guys in the business, that are these gorgeous actors, Orlando Bloom, Aston Kutcher. They’re all taken! And they’re all too old for me" "But I’m the type of person, if I like someone, I’ll go the complete opposite way. I’ll kind of be rude to them unintentionally. I won’t give them the time of day. I’ve learned that it makes them more interested. " "It’s easier for me right now to date another actor because if I’m traveling and I’m on sets, and I do have to kiss another guy in a scene, it’s like they’ll understand it because they might have to do the same thing. Other guys might get jealous. It depends on who the person is." "I’d love to work with Kate Hudson. I just love her, I think she’s so cute. She just has this thing about her, you can’t stop watching her. When I saw her in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days she’s just so fun. She’s just like her mom." "Yeah I think I’ve matured in a lot of ways, which happens when you go from 11 to 17. You have more respect for everything." "I am driving… scary thought." "I do think it’s important to go to college. I think it’s important to have an education." "I’ve been singing and dancing since I was little. It’s hard right now because there are a lot of other girls coming out. There’s this girl Kiley Dean, and Hilary [Duff], and Britney’s new album. It’s kind of like I don’t want to just be one in the pack. I want to separate myself. " - Regarding a music career "When I did Parent Trap, I was ten. I was thrown off by the whole fame thing. It came all at once. Parent Trap was an amazing movie. How do you follow that up? How do you do something that can top that? And I wanted to go back to school and be a normal kid. And I did. I went to high school, did two Disney channel things, which were fun just to keep up. And then Freaky Friday came along. It was just like “wow, this is a great script” and it would be perfect for me to come back with this." - Regarding Freaky Friday "I have great siblings and they are crazy and they do need everyone’s attention in the family. But my mom and I are very close. I think that’s really important. I’ve been really lucky to have such great parents. I confide in my mom a lot. Which I think is something I need to do at my age." "My little brother said the funniest thing the other day. I was talking about going to the premiere and how I wish I had a date, and he was like ‘you don’t need a date, I’m going with you, I have a suit. You can take your picture with me. Or you can go with Orlando Bloom because he’s Legolas’. And I was like ‘no he’s too old for me and he has a girlfriend’. He goes, ‘well I’m going to do a movie with him and I’ll talk to him and then you can go with him’. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever heard." "It’s important to surround yourself with good people that have grown and experienced more. But it’s also important to do what you feel is right, because if you don’t then you’re not going to be happen and then what’s the point in doing it?" "Girls my age hide things from their parents. I think it’s important to speak to your parents and let them know what’s going on." "My mom and I have always gotten along. Sometimes I don’t want to go by what she says and want to experience things on my own and make my own mistakes. Then I realise what I’ve done wrong, which isn’t necessarily the best way to go. " "I think I am my mom. We’re so similar; she even looks like me – but with blonder hair. She’s really cool. But I don’t think I could be her for a day because there are four kids in my family and it’d be too much work for me." "I just started home schooling this year. After Freaky Friday, it was too difficult going back and forth and dealing with the teachers at school. As for college, I wanted to study law, but then I wouldn’t be able to focus on acting at all. I haven’t been home to actually sit down and talk to my parents about it, but I will eventually. " "When you play certain characters, people my age have a tendency to be typecast and they are their characters. So it’s great to find a film where I can play something that’s completely different from everyone my age." - Regarding Freaky Friday "I don't know what I'm going to wear one day, then I'll wear something completely different the next day. I go through phases where I'm going to dress all vintage one day, then really hip hop." - Regarding Clothes From the 'Hot Teen's' Magazine "I think both of them are mostly girls dealing with other girls in high school and just going through high school and the drama that occurs and a lot all in one, so they are really fun movies," Regarding Confessions.. and Mean Girls
